Watch Red Kites Live with AMUS and LIFE EUROKITE
AMUS, a LIFE EUROKITE partner in Spain, manages several feeding stations for scavenger birds of prey. These areas, regulated by both sanitary and wildlife conservation legislation, provide safe food for vultures, kites, and eagles. Over the years, these installations have become essential for red kite conservation, particularly forreinforcing populations in southwest Spain to ensure their survival.
During critical periods of juvenile dispersion, AMUS has supplied safe food at these stations and used them as release points for red kites. The installation of small video cameras helps to gather valuable data, such as interactions between species and tracking birds with GPS failures.
Now, with the support of the LIFE EUROKITE project, a new webcam has been installed at one of the feeding stations. This webcam offers a live-streaming experience, allowing enthusiasts to observe released and wintering red kites, alongside other scavenger species in Extremadura, in the Spain-Portugal border.
We invite you to enjoy this new window into the world of red kites and join AMUS in monitoring these incredible birds.
