Encouraging observations from LIFE EUROKITE partner AMUS

Our project partner AMUS has shared new video footage documenting red kites from different generations at one of their feeding stations. The recordings show individuals with red tags released in 2024 alongside birds with white tags released in 2025, all reintroduced within the LIFE EUROKITE project.

In addition, the AMUS team observed five untagged red kites during the same monitoring period. This indicates that the increased density of birds resulting from release activities may be attracting individuals from surrounding areas.

Further positive developments include the confirmation of breeding pairs established in the region. Notably, some of these pairs appear to consist of both released and wild individuals, demonstrating successful integration and an encouraging trend for the long-term recovery of the species.
